LIMA 2019 Langkawi
Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) is Malaysia’s major maritime and aerospace exhibition taking place biennially in Langkawi, Malaysia. LIMA started in 1991 with only 100 exhibiting companies with the objective to make Langkawi the venue for light and experimental aircraft to fly freely sans the heavy air traffic, modeled after the EAA Air Venture in the US.
Fast forward from its humble beginning, LIMA has now expanded into maritime and is one of Asia Pacific's largest maritime and air exhibitions. Not only focusing mainly on the defense sector, LIMA also supports civilian industries. LIMA has been a major attraction for visitors in and outside Malaysia with its four-hour flying display that is held daily throughout the show.
LIMA exhibitors will exhibit their products inside the purpose built Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) adjacent to the terminal at Langkawi International Airport. Maritime exhibitions and aerospace exhibitions will be showcased in close proximity to each other. The maritime exhibitions will take place at Resort World Langkawi while the aerospace exhibitions will take place at the Langkawi International Airport.
LIMA 2017 saw over 180,000 visitors, compared to about 175,000 visitors during LIMA 2015. It is expected that there will be a 10% larger crowd during LIMA 2019 with over 600 exhibitors taking part.
The exhibition is open to Public Visitors from 29th – 30th March 2019, Friday & Saturday. To find out more about this event, click here.
