1. Nyonya Laksa (non-Halal)

2. Wanton Noodles (non-Halal)
Wanton noodles, also known as wantan mee, are usually served with black sauce, bbq pork meat (charsiew), minced pork and sliced vegetable. Here in Melaka, you will be able to find wanton noodles without the usual soy sauce and it is best eaten with a specific chili sauce which will be provided by the shop itself. Some of the best places for this cuisine is Hong Seng Restaurant, Bunga Raya Wantan Mee and Dong Fung Foodcourt.
3. Duck Noodles
The Melaka-style duck noodles is usually tossed in thick gravy and topped with shredded duck meat. This comes with small bowl of soup. For those who prefer the soup noodles, it is also fairly decent depends on your preference. Some of the place where you can enjoy these duck noodles are Tengkera Duck Noodles, SS Food & Beverage Station and Chia Yean Coffee Shop.
4. Chicken Rice Ball
In Malaysia, you will not be able to find chicken rice ball except here in Melaka. The rice is first boiled in chicken soup with other seasonings. When cooked, it is rolled in a ball that gives the unique look and texture. Example of good restaurants serving this chicken rice are Chung Wah Chicken Rice, Huang Chang Chicken Rice Restaurant, Famosa Chicken Rice Ball and Hainamko Chicken Rice.
5. Nasi Lemak
This is a ubiquitous dish that all Malaysians knows. You can get them anywhere but try out this restaurant’s nasi lemak. This is a fragrant rice dish cooked in coconut milk and “pandan” leaf commonly found in Malaysia. 6. Char Siew Rice (non-Halal)
You can find any type of Char Siew Rice, also known as bbq pork rice you desire in Melaka as it is full of various cooking styles. This dish is basically a plate of rice served with juicy and tender bbq pork with sweet and savoury gravy. Try out char siew rice at some of the restaurants: Chuen How Restaurant, Boon Leong Food Court and Mei Wei Xuan Restaurant
7. Asam Pedas Fish
This dish is cooked in asam (tamarind) juice with chili and different spices. A very hot and mild sour fish curry making it very appetizing and is best to go with white rice. You can eat it for dinner or lunch when you visit Melaka. Some of the restaurants you may try out are Asam Pedas Claypot, Asam Pedas Selera Kampung and Asam Pedas Pak Man.
8. Satay Celup
Satay Celup is one of the must-try dish in Melaka. Assortment of raw and semi-cooked food are prepared on the skewer stored in big fridges in the restaurant. Customers are able to select their own skewers (buffet style) and dunk them into a pot of boiling satay sauce. There are many satay celup restaurants in Melaka. Capitol Satay, Ban Li Xiang Satay Celup, McQuek’s Satay Celup and Satay Celup Warisan serve the best satay celup.
9. Cendol
Cendol is a shaved ice dessert which has the basic ingredients of fresh coconut milk, rich brown sugar syrup, red beans and chewy pandan flavoured cendol that resembles small worms. It is sweet and is a must have dessert to cool down our body with Malaysia’s sunny weather. Try out cendol from these famous places: Jonker88, Cendol Bakar, Aunty Koh Cendol and Cendol Jam Besar.
10. Coconut Shake
It is a mixture of coconut water, flesh, ice cube and vanilla ice cream blended together in a mixer. The natural sweet and creamy aftertaste with smoothie-like texture of coconut.
